First Impression (2023)
Jesmonite, waterglass 60cm x 60cm


Making a mould of an 19th century door panel and casting it in a relatively new material such as jesmonite, which was invented in 1984, while displaying in the storage cupboard juxtaposes the contemporary and historic, the processes of invention and conservation, manmade and organic material, and methods of storage and display of objects in collections.

Exhibited at Malahide Castle and Gardens. Supported by Fingal Arts Office and The Arts Council of Ireland.
